A short, practical guide to making expensive rubber last a decade.
Good latex is an investment. Treated well, a single piece can last a decade. Treated carelessly, it can be ruined in an afternoon.
Cleaning
Wash in lukewarm water with a mild, additive-free soap. No solvents, no oils, no abrasives. Rinse thoroughly and pat — never wring — dry.
Shining and storing
A dedicated latex polish brings the signature shine and protects the surface. Store flat or loosely hung, away from sunlight and metal, dusted lightly with talc to prevent sticking.
Latex rewards ritual. The five minutes of care after wearing are what buy you the next ten years.
